Aquaculture Worker of the Year Award 2008

The AquaFair 2008 Committee was very pleased to present the Aquaculture Worker of the Year Award to a very deserving recipient
Mr. Jim Hanley.

This award is presented to someone who has a real passion for the industry and someone who strives to make it better. Jim Hanley, NB Salmon Growers Association Wharf Manager is one of those people.

Jim grew up in this area and has spent most of his life around the Bay of Fundy and the fishing industry. He first became the wharfenger of the Limekiln Service Centre in 1994 until 1996 and began to build a working relationship with the people in the industry. He then went to Saint John and worked at the Irving Shipyards, returning as wharfenger again in 2001. Since then he has become a well respected, great friend and co-worker to all who use the centre. His level of commitment and dedication to his job is exemplary.

Jim and his wife Edith of 34 years have raised five children and now have several grandchildren and just recently became great grandparents.

Congratulations Jim.

The AquaFair 2008 Steering Committee wishes to thank Enterprise Charlotte for supporting this award.
